Evelyn Perfect Allen
Mrs. Samuel D. Allen

Evelyn Allen, 88, passed away peacefully February 17th at Hospice of Savannah.

She was born in 1921 to Hilda and Charles Perfect in Pooler, GA and remained a life long resident of Chatham County. She was a graduate of Savannah High School, Armstrong Junior College and the University of Georgia.

The importance of family and church were central to her life. Being a life long member of Bull Street Baptist Church, she and her husband devoted many years of service to the RA, GA and other youth groups of the church. She was a past president of the church WMU and a Sunday school teacher for many age groups and a current member of the Pilot Sunday School class. The generosity of her life was exemplified by the sharing of her home and time with extended family, friends and numerous church functions. There was always something going on.

She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel D. Allen for 65 years and is survived by her children; Charles A. Allen and his wife Suzie, Louise Allen Anderson and her husband Jim, Sam D. Allen, Jr. and his wife Robin, Steven H. Allen and his wife Pam; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Peter Perfect.

Visitation will be held at Bull Street Baptist Church Saturday February 20th at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at The Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances to Bull Street Baptist Church, 17 East Anderson St., Savannah, GA 31401 or a charity of your choice.

GUEST BOOK

Oh, my...I have just found out...a year and a half after Mrs. Allen's passing. She showed so much love, teaching the Young Adult Sunday School class I belonged to in the 1970's.Her home at Isle of Hope was such a welcoming place with Mr. Sam Allen also being a wise and loving Christian. They had a big duck and rooster who were inseparable as they ran around..and up to visitors together. The Lord's peace was there. Thank You Mrs. Allen.
